I was fortunate enough to answer some questions for issue 15 of the dutch skatemag ESSAY. The article contains photos that I ve taken throughout the last decade in the Benelux countries. Aside from that you will find really nice photos of Ziggy Schaap and a trip to Armenia that are definitely worth to flick through.
Danny Sommerfeld is one of a kind. When I visited him this spring we were lurking around in his hometown Kassel. We made a lo-fi video clip and even shot some photos for SOLO #50 with the same crappy video cam.
Together with poetic collective and pocket skate mag we published a handmade photo zine called “dog talk” starring Daniel Pannemann and his dog Jusepe. You can get the zine for free with every order at pocketmag or if you buy Daniels’ new board over at poetic.
Kai Hillebrand and I once again teamed up last summer in Denmark to drive all the way back strictly using country roads. Unfortunately our original plan got completely rained out. We still tried to make the most of it and even got away with an small article for Irregular issue 48.
A while ago Maxi Schaible, his brother Niklas and I went on a three week trip to Mexico to go skate, surf and enjoy life. The print article already got printed last year. Online version is now live here.
When I visited Niklas Schaible in his hometown Mannheim in autumn last year we had to struggle with a lot of rain and hid under bridges. Full print article of issue 48 is now online.
My friend Maxi Schaible and I met up this spring to explore the suburbs of Barcelona. We luckily found a lesser known area that turned out to be a giant wholesale for Chinese products. You can find the whole story here.
As you may have heard there is a pretty strong scene around mastermind Nizan Kasper in Hamburg. Nizan also finished Lobbys’ shop Video this summer and I documented a few days on the streets with some of the Lobby boys. In 2020 I was fortunate enough to go on a cargo ship across the baltic sea. During this time I was obviously interested in documenting the things I saw and the people I met. Now, two years after I finally released a 68 pages photobook about the journey that you can buy here.
